Sandy Springs is a city in its own right, but it is considered a suburb to the larger city of Atlanta, Georgia. It sits due north of Buckhead, and west of Dunwoody, Georgia.

Sandy Springs as cities go, it is relatively young (incorporated 2005), it feels somewhat shiny and new, but in no way a traditional city. It boasts a downtown area where Northside Tower has long been considered a downtown landmark. It is the address to the largest medical center in Georgia, and shares the sprawling Perimeter Center development with neighboring Dunwoody.

Sandy Springs is known for having traditional neighborhood homes. Over the past few years it has developed mix-use neighborhoods comprise of homes, townhomes, condominiums, shops, restaurants, offices, and commercial centers.
